All consuming fire. - Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.
Virtue. - Romans 5:3-5There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!
Forbearing. - Psalm 119:137137 Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments.138 Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.139 My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.141 I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

Resoluteness - Ecclesiastes 7:8-115It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. 6For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity. 7Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart. 8Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. 9Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. 10Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this. 11Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.
Vapor. - James 4:14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
The Kingdom. - Matthew 18:1-5At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
